Lauren and Cody’s Joy Filled Picture Perfect Wedding at Water’s Edge

Lauren and Cody’s wedding was a Joy filled picture perfect wedding day filled with joy at Water’s Edge.  These two share an inner joy and easy laughter that is contagious, so it’s easy to see why they are are adored by family and friends alike.  We were outstandingly lucky to have a sunny skies and a perfect temperature for their wedding day!

Their relationship began in high school (with their first date taking place at Lauren’s Parents’ House) and they have been together ever since. Cody proposed to Lauren in Gatlinburg by a small waterfall ,how romantic!

I started the day with Lauren, taking a few shots of her gorgeous details as well as a few of the ladies getting ready while Hallie from Columbus Bridal Makeup was finishing up her magic.  As her sister and mother helped Lauren step into her dress, they smiled, laughed, became a little teary.  I’m always so happy when couples build ample time into their getting ready portion of the day because gives us time for little moment to happen and a few extra minutes to soak things in. Soon after she was dressed, Lauren’s dad joined us to see his daughter for the first time as the beautiful bride that she was.  He gave her a necklace to wear down the aisle and I was just overwhelmed by the love in the room and everyone’s eyes (including my own) had tears at that point!

Soon it was time to head to Water’s Edge and for the Groom and his men to get dressed.   These lucky guys had the top floor of the venue all to themselves and I felt like I was back out west at a ski lodge except for the face that it was sunny and warm outside (which I’ll take over snow any day). The groomsmen helped each other get buttoned up, shoes tied and created perfect knots for their ties all while the room was full of jokes and laughter.

Lauren and Cody’s wedding colors were navy blue dresses for the ladies, grey suits for

the guys and blush and white for the flowers and decor, a perfect classic wedding palette.  Once Lauren’s ever so pretty veil was on it was time for the couple to exchange letters without seeing each other which was one of my favorite moments from their wedding day.

The thing that Lauren and Cody told me they were most looking forward to on their wedding day (besides marrying each other) was having a time when all of their family and friends could come together to celebrate and witness the love that they have helped these two to create. At their outdoor ceremony as Cody saw Lauren for the first time as she walked down the aisle with her father that is exactly what happened.  As all of their friends and family looked on these two became man and wife!

After their ceremony they hugged and greeted everyone and then it was time for family photos and well as bridal party and of course bride and groom photos before these two rejoined the celebration to dance the night away and laugh surrounded by their loved ones.  The dance floor was packed! All in all, it was truly a perfect day and a joy to document! Thank you two for a wonderful day!! Here are a few of my favs 🙂 xoxo, Tessa Maxine
